When I was doing my internship, my supervisor pushed me to read this book, telling me that most people will, unfortunately, experience some form of trauma and it is important I understand the complexities of it and how the body is impacted by it. This book was so helpful for me to think about trauma from a more complete picture and to look more at the lasting impact of repressed trauma and emotions.

As a therapist that draws on all of the theories used in this book, I love how the book pulls them all together and helps you better understand, work through and overcome your trauma. The book addresses some of the key signs and symptoms of trauma and PTSD including flashbacks, insomnia, etc and through worksheets, exercises, checklists and didactic information, you will feel better equipped in your journey.
